Novelists
Had me captivated beginning to end with such imaginative guitar work and a presence that left you with no doubts that they put their whole hearts into what they do. Since All For Nothing has an incredible intro, it was such a great way to introduce the band to the crowd, and overall, a great taster for how the night was going to play out.
Wolf & Bear
Their unique mix of heavy breakdowns and vocal runs already puts them in a league of their own, but to watch them completely command the stage and make it look easy is a true testament to their incredible skill. They had a short set, highlighting mostly songs off of their newest album “A Hill To Die On”, but making a short and sweet set made every song hit even harder live.
HORSE The Band
I didn’t know what to expect, but a triangle as a main instrument wasn’t on my bingo card. Yet, the infectious energy that came from these guys mixed with their massive sound (and absolutely mind-boggling 8-bit keyboard soundscapes like in their track Birdo) created an absolute playground for the whole crowd to go wild on.
Dance Gavin Dance
The decades of experience are immediately clear the minute they step foot on stage as they seem to levitate. With no idle hands or mouths in the crowd, Dance Gavin Dance really takes control of the room and none were immune to their absolute vibes. DGD ended the show with a triple encore, ending it all with a track off of their 2016 album, “Mothership”. It was the kind of performance that reminded everyone why they've remained such a defining force in the scene for so long.
